Thank You for Your Support

TD Friends of the Environment Fund Grant

TD Friends of the Environment Fund Grant helped provide us with new easy to use humane trapping equipment.  The new equipment was successfully used by a new member of our Society to trap a late litter of feral kittens Nov 2011.

Because of the ease of use of this equipment we can now ask colony caretakers to trap their own cats and kittens for us, instead of putting them on the wait list for our experienced trappers to come out and do the work.  The new equipment will be put to good use in March 2012 when we begin TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) on a new colony of over 50 cats.

Kensington Foundation

This wonderful foundation of caring artists continues to help us with grants that go directly into our vet account - just where we need it the most!

Comox Valley Regional District

Again, we are honoured to receive a grant from our Regional District supporters.  It is nice to have support so close to home!  Thank-you Councillors!

Comox Valley Community Foundation

We are proud to have received a 2011 grant from this local Foundation.  Community support means everything, thank-you!

"Kitten Sitters" Desperately Needed!

At this time of year Kitty Cat P.A.L. Society takes in - on average - 2 kittens per day and adopts out - on average - 5 kittens per week in the Comox Valley.  A lot of the kittens are "in-out" and their stay in a foster home is short: foster parents are more like kitten sitters than parents!  If you can temporarily house a few kittens like these three cuties in a bathroom or bedroom, please call 250-218-7223 or email kittycatpals@hotmail.com.

If you cannot be a "kitten sitter"...

When a litter of kittens comes in, often we do not have the necessary supplies, especially for the littlest kittens.  Some of the items required are:

  • KMR (Milk Replacer powder) available at Woofys, Petland
  • AD - special canned food with critical nutrients for malnourished kittens, available at Van Isle
  • Baby Cat dry food, available at Woofys
  • Non-clumping cat litter
  • Regular canned food for kittens.
  • Probiotics - powder/capsules - this restores healthy digestive tract flora critical for malnourished kittens to grow.

These necessary items keep kittens healthy, which means fewer medical problems for the animal and less medical costs for the Society and for the new family.

Donations are accepted at any Adopt-A-PAL clinic, or please call for pick up.
