Adopt-A-PAL Volunteer Coordinator – Communicate with volunteers to fill openings in schedule, and recruit new volunteers for the various adoption locations and times.
Fundraising Event Coordination – Single Event or Multiple Events - scheduled events include: Walk for the Kitties October 16th, Fall Fair ticket booths in August (tentative), BBQs at Quality Foods. Involves Volunteer Coordination, equipment organization and venue liason. Foster Homes – New foster homes are needed, as many from last year adopted their kitten(s) and are not fostering anymore! All supplies, training and support provided. THE MOST ESSENTIAL AREA OF THE SOCIETY! |
Fundraising Items Coordination – There are several volunteers who have expressed interest in creating items to sell for fundraising. We just need a coordinator to get them going, and organize the items for sale. Adopt-A-PAL Volunteers – We are looking for new volunteers to help with kitten adoptions. This is a great volunteering opportunity for parents with pre-teens who love kitties, retirees who cannot have a pet in their apartment or anyone who loves cats. Duties include socializing with the kitties and the public, cleaning litter boxes as needed, making sure the food and water dishes are full, etc. If you can help, times are 11-2 weekends and shorter shifts in the morning and late afternoon weekdays. Adopt-a-PAL Volunteers - Housecleaning and socializing with the kittens. Some locations include setup and take down of equipment. Answer public's inquiries, counsel potential adopters, provide information and applications as needed. Trapping Team Members – Usually evenings one to four hours at a time. Vehicle and ability to lift up to 20 lbs of cat required! Lots of training provided! Holding Homes - 2 to 4 night stays in crates for feral cats who have been trapped and spayed or neutered. This is an essential step in their new life, as they must fast overnight before their surgery, and recover in a warm, dark, quiet and safe area before being returned to their home colony. All setup provided! Veterinarian Runner – Driving feral cats to and from their spay/neuter appointments and holding home. Foster Homes in the Comox Valley:
